Fiber-optic backbone lines were brought to key venues: the Kazan Expo complex, the Ak Bars Martial Arts Palace and three additional sites. In total, 62 access nodes with DDoS protection were installed, 24 VPN channels configured and 25 dark fibers laid for broadcasting to federal TV channels.
The tournament involved more than 2,000 athletes from over 100 countries and became the first major international phygital event, combining both physical and digital disciplines. Without resilient connectivity between gaming zones, servers and broadcast studios, this format would not be possible.
For Tattelecom, the project became an infrastructure stress test: peak load on play-off days exceeded 40 Gbps of total traffic with no network downtime.
